Senior technical judgment, a few hours at a time.
Some companies don't need another developer as much as they need someone senior to make the technical calls. We provide fractional CTO help to small and mid-sized companies around Dallas-Fort Worth and across the US.
When it makes sense
- Big technical decisions are waiting on someone qualified to make them: build or buy, rewrite or modernize, which vendor.
- You have developers but no technical lead, and work drifts without a plan or review.
- You're about to hire and can't judge a developer's code yourself.
- An agency or vendor builds your software, and you want someone on your side checking the work and the invoices.
- A full-time CTO salary doesn't make sense yet.
What we take on
Architecture and roadmap
A written plan for where your software is going, what to build next, and what to stop doing.
Build, buy or integrate
Clear recommendations on custom software versus off-the-shelf tools, with the cost of each spelled out.
Code and vendor reviews
Regular reviews of your team's or agency's work, estimates and invoices, so you know what you're paying for.
Hiring
Role definitions, code reviews of candidates, technical interviews and onboarding.
AI strategy
Which AI tools and automations are worth your money, starting with the AI Opportunity Audit.
Security and access basics
Accounts, keys, backups and permissions put in order, so the business isn't one departure away from losing access.
How it works
Fractional CTO help is billed at our normal rate of $100 to $125 per hour, usually as a monthly block of hours you choose. A typical month includes a standing check-in with your leadership or team, reviews as work comes up, and written recommendations you can act on.
When a recommendation means building something, our team can build it, or your developers can. Either way, the person who made the recommendation stays accountable for it.
Who does the work
PJ Sojdei, Codegrity's founder, has more than 15 years in production software. He led a team of more than ten developers at Nerium (now Neora), worked as a solution architect at Nokia designing large-scale systems, and has managed offshore teams and run sprint planning. He has been on both sides: building the software, and leading the people who build it. More about PJ.
